Mountain House GC in Tracy (free round in the 2007-08 ValueBooks) is no longer open for play and former general manager Bill Costanzo doesn’t know when it might re-open. For updates, call: (925) 243-0100. The Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) recently announced that they’ll not be sending out 2008 Membership Cards to members because of “highly publicized and unanticipated changes in the credit markets”. However, NCGA Members can print a card by registering your e-mail address on the homepage of www.ncga.org. In the July issue of NCGA Golf, there will be a $15 gift card (for NCGA members) which is redeemable at The Golf Mart, Roger Dunn and Van’s Golf Shops throughout the state. The Save Mart Shootout will take place this year October 12-13 at Riverbend Golf Club in Madera and the NorCal Golf Show will take place Oct. 10-12 in Pleasanton at the Fairgrounds…the 2009 San Mateo Golf Show (March) is being moved to San Jose! Luis Miramontes, general manager at Gold Hills GC in Redding, recently lost a long battle with cancer. Luis was a “great guy” to work with who always had a positive spirit despite his disease.
